Morgan is a company that we can certainly get behind. While the average buyer might be more inclined to own a sensible family sedan, Morgan is for the driver who considers vintage goggles and five-point safety harnesses “sensible.” And Morgan has just upped the ante with its latest creation.
Among other three-wheeled insanities, Morgan is known for building modern cars with a fully vintage aesthetic. The Plus 8 and Plus 4 are among the companies latest offerings, and the news of the day regards a special speedster version of the Plus 8.
According to Carscoops, the Plus 8 Speedster is set to go on sale in June, with deliveries going through later in the summer.
In a press release, Morgan says of the Plus 8 Speedster, “The latest evolution of the Plus 8, offers an even more invigorating driving experience inspired by a bygone era of stripped back, road going race cars.”
As with the standard Plus 8, the Speedster is powered by a 4.8-liter, BMW-sourced V8. It sends power to the rear wheels through a ZF 6-speed automatic transmission.
The price of the Morgan Plus 8 Speedster is 69,995, or $117,800. Quite the sum, but now you know the price of speed(ster).
