The Chrysler Laser XE. You may not have heard of it, but it was a respectable coupe in its own right. It was a similar car to the Dodge Daytona coupe, other than a few changes. First, the headlights were fixed, giving it a front appearance closer to a Fox-body mustang. Then, there was the dash. This ad was for a 1985 Laser XE, but the car was first offered as a 1984 vehicle. James Earl Jones had just wrapped up the Star Wars trilogy with Return of the Jedi in 1983, so the voice of Darth Vader was a perfect fit for this car positioned as a high-tech sports coupe.
