Saleen Taking S7 Supercar To Beijing Auto Show, Will Offer It For Sale

If you ever wanted to get your hands on a brand new Saleen S7, you’ll have your chance at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show next month. Yes, Saleen has confirmed it will be taking one of the all-American supercars to the show to help spearhead its launch in the Chinese market, and will be offering it up for sale. The presentation will also coincide with the appearance of an S7 in the recently launched Need for Speed movie.

Anyone serious about car. collecting would be smart to contact Saleen about its S7 sale. The car remains one of the rawest supercars ever produced in modern times, though sadly production ran for just a brief stint between 2000 and 2004. The S7 weighs only 2,750 pounds but features a 550-horsepower 7.0-liter V-8. The engine is mid-mounted and spins the rears via a six-speed manual transmission.

Saleen is entering the Chinese market together with GreenTech Automotive, which will market the
cars. under the WM Saleen brand. Saleen will offer its complete lineup of vehicles to Chinese customers, which means a range of custom muscle cars as well as a new supercar and a modified Tesla Model S.

In addition to the S7, Saleen will be using the Beijing
Auto. Show to showcase a trio of custom muscle cars, a Mustang, Challenger and Camaro, each of which have already been sold to local buyers. 
 
 
This year’s Beijing Auto Show gets underway April 20. More than 800,000 visitors are expected to attend.

"We are very pleased to bring our vehicles to this massive show and car-crazy audience," Saleen CEO and founder Steve Saleen said in a statement. "Interest in our cars from China and Asia in general has always been strong.”
