If you love things that are topless, and you love the new Corvette Z06, then you may have a heart attack when you see this thing. It’s the new Corvette Z06 Convertible, and yes, it already made its web debut earlier this week, but now it’s here in the
What it lacks in a hard top, it makes up for with 625 horsepower from a supercharged 6.2-liter V8. The same one found on the standard Corvette Z06. You can opt for an eight-speed automatic transmission, although, we think the seven-speed manual may be more up to speed with enthusiasts.
This, in fact, is the very first Z06 convertible Chevy has built since 1963. Also, it’s the most powerful and track-proven convertible they’ve built ever. The chassis is 20 percent stiffer than the standard coupe, and it moves around with the same curb weight. Not half bad considering some added rigidity.
Chevy hasn’t announced when the new Z06 convertible will be on sale, or how much it will cost. But, you can catch it on display at the New York Auto Show. And believe us, you don’t want to miss it.
