Chevrolet has confirmed that a new variant of the seventh-generation Corvette will be revealed on April 15, the eve of the 2014 New York Auto Show. It won’t be the Z06 and C7.R that we first saw at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show back in January but a brand new variant.

Possibilities include a special edition model to help kick off the launch of the 2015 Corvette range (on sale in the fall), or perhaps a new fixed-roof model rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe. The latter is said to become the new point of entry for Corvette buyers.

Chevrolet will also use the New York event to present its Camaro Z/28 in production trim. The vehicle will hit showrooms this summer, as a 2015 model, and we’ll be bringing you a first drive report in the near future.

Beyond the performance lineup, Chevy will also showcase an updated version of its Cruze compact sedan. This won’t be the all-new Cruze that recently leaked and is due in showrooms in late 2015 (a year after sales in China commence), but an updated version of the current model that first reached the U.S. in 2010.

Finally, Chevy will introduce what it calls an “important new addition” to its small car lineup. This is tipped to be the next generation of the Spark minicar, which has been seen in prototype. form and is expected in showrooms before the end of the year.
