Saleen Shows Off First Sketches of Custom Tesla, Promises Summer Arrival

Saleen is known for its work on cars like the Mustang, or the Camaro, or the Challenger — and a few in-between. But now the American tuner shop is headed in a new direction with a project that’s a little more electrifying (excuse the obvious pun). It’s a custom Tesla Model S, and apparently it’s coming out this summer.

Saleen originally announced its plans to build an electric custom a few months back, and we were skeptical, but it’s not until now do we see exactly what said EV will encompass with a few teaser sketches. Off the bat, it’s easy to see that the Model S will wear a custom new Saleen body kit loaded with a healthy heaping of carbon fiber. A new front diffuser, new wheels, and new aerodynamics all make the sports sedan even better looking.

Inside, we can also see that the Tesla will feature gray leather and Alcantara, with red stitching throughout, and that signature iPad-like center console.

What exactly will be under the hood has yet to be determined. Naturally, we expect the Saleen Model S to put to use an electric motor and possibly some aftermarket goodies. We’re waiting in anticipation for this arrival, as it’s set to make its debut later this summer.
