Dodge Adds Blacktop Appearance Package to 2014 Durango Lineup

 

           

 

 

 

Dodge has added the Durango, the badge's 3-row SUV, to the roster of 2014 Dodge models for which the Blacktop Appearance package is available.

 The package includes distinctive wheels, dual exhaust and gloss black accents throughout, to give the vehicle a sporty and aggressive look.

 The Durango Blacktop Appearance package is available on SXT, Limited, and R/T trim levels, for an MSRP as low as $295.

On the R/T, the Blacktop package adds gloss black 20-in. aluminum wheels, gloss black crosshair grille with matching grille surround, and gloss black badging for a MSRP of $295. On SXT models, the Blacktop package adds gloss black 20-in.

 aluminum wheels, crosshair grille with matching grille surround, side mirrors, and badging; dual rear exhaust with bright tips; black headlamp bezels; and body-color fascias and moldings. Starting MSRP for the package on the SXT trim is $1,590.

 On the Durango Limited, the Blacktop package includes all of the above content, plus HID headlamps and LED daytime running lights (DRLs), to complement its premium leather interior, for a starting MSRP of $1,990.

Dodge says the dual rear exhaust will bring the Durango's V-6 engine up to 295 horsepower, producing 260 lb.-ft. of torque, while the Hemi V-8 engine will achieve 360 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque.

 The V-6 can tow up to 6,200 lbs.; the V-8, up to 7,400 lbs. The V-8's Fuel Saver Technology with cylinder deactivation seamlessly employs a fuel-saving 4 cylinders when less power is required.

The Dodge Durango is a rear-wheel-drive SUV (all-wheel drive is available) that seats 7 in standard configuration.

 The 2014 Dodge Durango is offered in a choice of eight exterior colors, features a new standard 8-speed automatic transmission, improved fuel economy and performance, new LED exterior lighting, upgraded touch screen, new programmable instrument cluster, and an available high-definition dual-screen Blu-ray entertainment system.

 The available captain's chairs with pass-through allow passengers easy access to the third row. These chairs can be had with Nappa Leather heated bucket seats with individual armrests.

The Blacktop package is now available on the 2014 Charger, Challenger, Dart, Avenger, Journey, and Grand Caravan models as well as the Durango.
