Ever since the famed Transformers TV series was rebooted for the big screen in 2007, Autobot leader Optimus Prime has defended Earth side-by-side his trusty sidekick Bumblebee, a charismatic transforming Chevrolet Camaro.

To the delight of series fans, the lovable Bumblebee returns for the latest film, Transformers: The Last Knight, and he’s been given a bit of a makeover.

Director Michael Bay revealed the all-new Bumblebee on Twitter, modeled after the new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, which will share screen time with actors Mark Wahlberg and Josh Duhamel when the fifth film in the series arrives in theaters for June 2017.

The latest iteration of Bumblebee, designed in-house by Chevrolet, features the pony car’s now-familiar new design scheme, albeit updated with racy pumped-up fenders, a rakish front bumper and aerodynamic splitter, low profile mirrors, aggressive air vents, and a redesigned rear spoiler. Bumblebee Camaros of the past have featured similarly forward-looking (and resto-mod) designs, however the new version looks particularly futuristic.

Filming for the latest movie is said to have kicked off this month, which will pick up where 2014’s Transformers: Age of Extinction left off. And though the plot for Transformers: The Last Knight is still unknown, one thing is for certain—there will be plenty of explosions. Autobots, roll out!
