The Dodge Charger Hellcat is one of the most—if not the most talked about car of the past few months. And for good reason. Under the hood there’s a 707-horsepower supercharged Hemi, and flat out, it lays claim to being the fastest sedan in the whole damn world.

 

But what do our colleagues in the industry have to say about the ferocious four-door?

Car and Driver ✓: “What’s most remarkable about this Charger is that it’s the complete package—daily commuting comfort combined with berserk special-occasion performance, all at a realistic price…Until GM and Ford chime in with their 700-hp sedans, or until the fuel sippers arrive—whichever comes first—the Charger SRT Hellcat is the uncontested king of American four-door performance.”

 

Road and Track ✓: “The Charger Hellcat makes no sense. It’s not a rational car. You’d have to be clinically insane to buy this as your daily driver/family hauler. You’ll probably need to change tires every time you refuel, which is basically every single day. It’s nuts. It makes no sense. It’s irrational. It’s dumb. It’s basically perfect.”
