The VLF Destino is finally being delivered to customers—aka, a Fisker Karm body with the heart of a Chevy. One of the first to be delivered went to Bob Lutz, the company’s founding partner. But need not worry, other customers, you can expect your Destinos to be arriving soon, too.
It’s being billed as one of the world’s fastest four-door sedans with a top speed of 200 mph. This comes from the melding of the aforementioned Fisker Karma chassis with the engine from a supercharged Corvette ZL1 V8. It was first revealed at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show as a concept, and the first product of the partnership between Lutz, Henrik Fisker, and Gilbert Villarreal.
According to Detroit News, the Fisker Karma without its original powertrain now has a 6.2-liter V8 with 638 horsepower. This will move the car from 0-60 in a cool 3.9 seconds. Pretty spritely.
Lutz is quite pleased with his new ride, which will join his already impressive fleet. Other customers soon to be wearing a grin include a music celebrity rumored to be Carlos Santana. Lucky owners shelled out $229,000 for the privilege of owning a VLF Destino.
