SSC Tuatara Gaining New Facility in Washington

The 1,350 horsepower, insanely designed and engineered SSC Tuatara looks like it’s going to have a new home here in the U.S.

 Originally unveiled as a prototype in 2011, new reports are telling us that SSC (formerly Shelby Supercars) is opening up a new facility in West Richland, Washington, specifically for its Tuatara supercar.

After citing a delay in funding, SSC execs have announced the start of production of its new facility for sometime in August, with completion early in 2015. Unfortunately for future SSC customers, it won’t be until a few months later that they’ll be able to take delivery of their 250 mph supercar.
 

With the new facility, SSC says that it will be able to finish one car per month, with production moving along at a quicker pace later on in the year. Of course, this 1,350 horsepower, V8-powered supercar won’t be cheap, likely ringing in near the seven figure mark for interested buyers.
