The annual J.D. Power Initial Quality StudySM (IQS) asks thousands of new-vehicle owners about the problems they have experienced with their new car, truck, SUV, or van during the first 90 days of ownership.
 
 From this research, J.D. Power formulates Power Circle Ratings (PCRs), which are designed to be consumer-friendly summaries of the information.
 
This Top-Rated 2014 Coupes guide includes those models receiving the highest Initial Quality PCR score possible--a 4.5 or a 5 (out of 5)--listed in alphabetical order.




2014 BMW 4 Series


The BMW 4 Series coupe is a new model that replaces the previous BMW 3 Series coupe. It is offered with a choice of a turbocharged 4-cylinder or a turbocharged 6-cylinder engine, with a manual or automatic transmission and rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.

 A 4-door Gran Coupe (2015 MY) variant is also available, as well as a 4 Series convertible version.

The 2014 BMW 4 Series coupe earns an Initial Quality Power Circle Rating of 4.5 out of 5.




2014 BMW 6 Series


The BMW 6 Series is a 4-passenger luxury sport coupe available with a choice between a turbocharged 6-cylinder or twin-turbocharged V-8 engine.

 Power is routed through an automatic transmission that drives the rear or all four wheels.

The 2014 BMW 6 Series coupe earns an Initial Quality Power Circle Rating of 4.5 out of 5.



2014 Hyundai Elantra


The Hyundai Elantra coupe is compact 5-passenger model based on the Elantra sedan. It has a new engine this year, a larger and more powerful 2.0-liter 4-cylinder generating 173 horsepower. Buyers choose between a manual and an automatic transmission, each delivering motive force to the Elantra coupe's front wheels.

2014 Hyundai Genesis Coupe


A 4-passenger, rear-drive sport coupe, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe is powered by a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine or a V-6 engine and offers a choice of a manual or an automatic transmission.

The 2014 Hyundai Genesis Coupe earns an Initial Quality Power Circle Rating of 5 out of 5.




2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class


A compact luxury coupe, this car wears an E-Class designation but shares a platform with the Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan. The E350 features a 3.5-liter V-6 engine, while the E550 is equipped with a twin-turbocharged, 4.6-liter V-8 engine.

 An automatic transmission powers the rear wheels, and all-wheel drive is available for the E350 model.

A 2-seat, rear-drive sports car, the Nissan 370Z is equipped with a V-6 engine and either a manual or automatic transmission. A performance-tuned Nismo version is also available.

2014 Porsche 911


Porsche's iconic 911 lineup grows for 2014, adding 911 Targa 4, 911 Targa 4S, and 911 GT3 variants. In total, there are 10 different 911 coupe models from which to choose, the quickest model getting to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds while the most leisurely among them reaches the same speed in 5 seconds, according to Porsche.

2014 Porsche Cayman


A 2-seat, mid-engine sports car, the Porsche Cayman was redesigned for the 2014 model year. Lighter, more fuel-efficient, and more powerful than ever, the new Cayman shares its platform and powertrains with the Porsche Boxster roadster.

 Standard and Cayman S models were joined in the summer of 2014 by a new GTS version.
