With the month of December more than halfway complete and January 2016 looming large on the horizon, it’s safe to say 2015 has been quite the year for all things four-wheeled.

The world has been given a falcon-winged Tesla SUV, a Shelby Mustang of epic proportions, and loads of little zesty crossovers to whet today’s appetites.
So with 2015 nearly in the bag, which test drives rank as our most memorable jaunts? Scroll below to find out.

2016 Shelby GT350 Mustang

First, what isn’t there to love about Shelby Mustang? The iconic nameplate returns in GT350 guise for 2016 and it makes for an exhilarating experience on the track. Though our time was short, the screaming GT350 easily ranks as one of the best cars of 2015.

2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS

“Move over Mustang,” says our Jeff Perez after getting behind the wheel of the truly all-new 2016 Camaro SS. The popular pony car is all grown up for the new year and marks a significant improvement over the outgoing model. Good value for money, too.

2016 Toyota Tacoma 4×4

The Toyota Tacoma didn’t get to the top of the midsize pickup segment for no reason, and the updated ’16 Taco proves it still excels in that category, both on-road and off. With GM’s new Colorado and Canyon twins nipping at its heels, take a look at how the Tacoma continues to hold its ground.

2016 Mazda CX-3

The U.S. market has gone a bit crossover-crazy in recent years, ditching sedans of all types for their higher-riding CUV cousins. One of the best cars to emerge from this new compact crossover segment is Mazda’s CX-3, in fact, it might be the best Mazda on sale today.

2015 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk

Looking to go off-road, but don’t want or need a massive Jeep Wrangler? The zippy Renegade Trailhawk is highly capable in the rough stuff, and let’s be honest, it’s an adorably cute little 4×4.

2016 Ram 2500 AEV Prospector

Not so “cute” is the 2016 RAM 2500, an absolute goliath of a pickup. Michigan’s AEV Conversions has pumped it up even further too with the new “Prospector” package. It’s tall, intimidating, and mountains don’t stand a chance.

2015 BMW M4

Some people are of the opinion that BMW “sportiness” has taken a back seat to luxury and looks in recent years. Those people haven’t driven the BMW M4. It’s the “M3 coupe” that the M3 always used to be, and now it has the wiggle room to fill that niche. Consider it filled, it’s one of the best cars on sale today.

2016 Superformance Shelby Daytona Coupe

From here on down, things are going to get a bit…weird. A Shelby Daytona replica isn’t for the average buyer, especially considering this one costs $165,000 all complete. But for those with the spare change…it’s as close to an umpteen million dollar Daytona as can be.

2015 Drakan Spyder

The Drakan Spyder might be the best automotive toy that you’ve never heard of. It weighs only 2,000 pounds, boasts a power-to-weight ratio on par with a Bugatti Veyron, and pulls power from a highly proven Chevrolet V8. It’s the track toy to have…if they weren’t all sold out. More to arrive next year.

2016 Rezvani Beast

You’ve surely heard of the manic Ariel Atom, no? Well this is its American cousin—the Rezvani Beast. It comes clad in carbon fiber skin, boasts a turbocharged and supercharged Honda four-cylinder, and 500 horsepower helps turn your face (and organs) into mush.
