Hot Wheels has made some of the coolest miniature cars that were ever to grace a toy store shelf. While many of these vehicles were scaled down versions of real cars, many were completely fabricated flights of fancy. Incredibly, some of those creations were made into real cars, like the Darth Vader car you see here.

On a perfectly timed new episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, the folks from Hot Wheels brought by their incredible, real-life Darth Vader car, which is what you get when you morph Vader’s helmet and other components into a car.

The original 1:64 scale car came out in 2014 as part of a series of Hot Wheels cars inspired by various Star Wars characters. The same year, this car was built as a way to promote the Hot Wheels tie-in with Lucasfilm, and it was put on display at Comic-Con 2014. Incredibly, this full-size car runs, and has a General Motors V8 engine with 526 horsepower on tap.

You get into the car via the power-lifting canopy, which is the top of Vader’s helmet, and the side-pipes are said to be inspired by light sabers. All in all, this seems like the ultimate dream car for the ultimate Star Wars fan. Too bad this is a one-of-one promotional vehicle. Maybe one day it will make its way to the auction circuit.
