In 1991, you could pick up a brand new Acura NSX for just $60,000. Adjusting for inflation, that’s about $104,000 in 2015 money. Unfortunately for buyers, Honda and Acura felt its 2017 NSX was more than just the price of inflation. The new NSX starts at $156,000, which isn’t chump change by any means.
Comparably, the NSX’s main competition will hail from Germany and the UK. The new Audi R8 and McLaren 570S, just to name a few. Of the ones mentioned, the R8 is the cheapest starting at just $117,000. But it’s also underpowered with just 430 horsepower (unless you opt for the more powerful, more expensive V10).
At the end of the day, we won’t really know if the NSX will be worth the money until we actually get out and drive it. Don’t worry, we’ll be doing that very soon…
