This year’s Consumer Electronics Show is only a few weeks away in Las Veags, Nevada and BMW has big plans or the show. A new BMW i8 Spyder concept is set to be revealed with the possibility of a production car in the near future.
This is not the first we’ve seen of an i8 designed to let the sunshine and wind blow through your hair. A concept for the car was first shown at the 2012 Beijing motor show. It was well-received, but a production model has yet to make an appearance.
According to CarMagazine, BMW admitted that coming up with a topless version of the i8 was difficult. Perhaps this is why we’ve never seen one on the streets in the real world. The debut of another new concept bodes well for the chances that this time around it will make it into production.
The i8 Spyder concept will likely show off new technology, too. Other than the news that the concept is likely coming to CES, they haven’t said a word about what exactly we will see come January so it will be a big surprise when the curtain is pulled back.
