Springs are cut, replaced, or swapped with airbags, and wheels are upgraded to mammoth size, filling all usable space within the wheel wells. When done poorly, you could be left with a back-aching, brow-raising disaster. When done properly, well…you can end up with something like this.

This striking 2014 Audi A5 was given its drop in altitude by Keg Media in preparation for the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. It boasts a fully blacked-out appearance, sits on rakish 20-inch Niche Road wheels, and there’s a pretty unique surprise in the trunk. Scroll below to see why this Audi has earned the nickname “DISTILD.”

Admittedly, being an Audi A5, there is a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine under the hood. But in appearance, this car channels the wildest Audi of the breed—the RS5. As such, the car adopts the RS5’s aggressive bumpers, side skirts, and exhaust. There’s no 4.2-liter V8 under the hood, but the 2.0-liter turbo is said to have received a significant tune.

That “DISTILD” nickname? That comes from the ingenious disguise given to the A5’s AccuAir suspension system. Peek in the trunk and you’d think you’re looking at a mini distillery, complete with two stills, mason jars, and loads of copper piping. In reality it’s actually a pair of air tanks which can raise and lower the suspension as needed. Very, very clever and nicely done.

Since its 2014 SEMA Show debut the sleek Audi A5 has certainly earned its fair share of praise, including a number of car show awards, a top 50 place at the annual Southern Worthersee meet in Helen, Georgia, and Slam’d Magazine’s 2014 Car of the Year award.

Fast-forward a year and now the low-slung Audi resides on eBay with bidding starting at $45,000. It’s not hard to imagine the build required significantly more than that to complete.
