Low mileage is one thing, but this 1978 Silver Anniversary Chevrolet Corvette has just 4.1 miles on the odometer. Once it was purchased and shipped to the original buyer, he rolled it into his garage and that’s where this Corvette has been for the last 38 years.
According to BestRide, there were two special editions made up for the Corvette’s 25th anniversary. The first was an Indy 500 pace car replica and the second was this Silver Anniversary edition. It was available on any Corvette as a paint option for $399 and 15,283 people opted for the two-tone paint combination.
This particular example has the more powerful L82 engine and every option you could possibly add. This includes power windows and locks, sport mirrors, 60-series white-letter tires, and a built-in CB radio because that was a mighty fine extra in the 1970s.
The original price was $13,658.21 which would be close to $50,000 in today’s dollars. That would be a steal for a brand new Corvette. You better have more cash in the bank if you want to own this today because it’s a true collector’s gem. If you do have the cash, head on over to eBay.
