This 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS started out as practically nothing, other than a shell. It had no engine and no transmission when it was sold at an insurance auction to Nathan Mueller. Mueller quickly got to work in creating something the world has never seen: a Camaro with a 6.6-liter Duramax diesel engine under the hood.

The Duramax came from a Chevrolet Kodiak shuttle bus and likely had no idea it would go on to become a part of such a glorious creation. Mueller lowered the subframe by three inches to get the hood to close and added custom spacers to keep the car’s original ride height.

The Allison five-speed was swapped out for a 6L90E six-speed automatic from yet another Kodiak and a 65mm Stage 2 turbocharger was added. It also got an intercooler, custom EFI programming, and four-inch exhuast.

According to Hot Rod, the final result is a monster with 896 lb-ft of torque. It’s surprisingly still in one piece and has yet to manage to tear itself apart. The project went so well, in fact, he did it again and put a Duramax into a Dodge Charger. This man is the best kind of crazy.
