Few cars scream “summer” quite like the Chevrolet Corvette. It’s got miles of headroom (sans top), makes a tremendous noise, and gobbles up roads and track like a ravenous red-white-and-blue beast. But if you haven’t tried the latest-generation ‘Vette, well… now might be the time.

Beginning on May 3rd, Chevrolet initiated a loyalty incentive offer for the month of May where current Corvette owners can receive $2,000 off the price of a new 2016 Corvette Stingray.

The only stipulations? The currently owned (or leased) Corvette must be model year 1999 or newer, and the promotion doesn’t include the no-holds-barred Corvette Z06, which starts at $79,400. Even so, the sports car deal sounds like quite an attractive proposition.

Car-buying service CarsDirect first reported on the “Corvette Loyalty Program” offer on May 6th, and upon speaking with a Chevrolet representative, we can add that while the offer is not compatible with other private offers, it can be paired with available Chevy Bonus Tag savings.

For buyers looking for a base model 2016 Corvette Stingray coupe with no options, the $2,000 loyalty offer brings the starting price down to just $53,400. For the 2016 Stingray convertible, the starting price drops to just $57,400 with no options.

Demand for the Corvette has waned since this time last year—3,142 sold in April 2016, compared to 3,469 in April 2015 (a 9.4 percent drop)—however it’s likely to rise this summer. The lineup will soon expand with the arrival of the track-minded 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport this summer, starting at $66,445.

Got a 1999-or-newer Corvette currently in your garage? You’ll need to act fast. The $2,000 offer expires after May 31st.
