As with any new Atom, the first thing anyone notices is the way it packs loads of performance, without all the necessary bodywork. The tubular chassis and open-wheel styling is a mechanical engineer’s dream. But what if you put even more power in that lightweight, open-frame design? Awesomeness, that’s what.
The Ariel Atom 3.5R is a 350 horsepower, six-figure track toy that enthusiasts should be drooling over. the 2.0-liter Honda engine has been supercharged and given a boost from 7.5 psi to 11 psi. That means you’ll be running headlong down the raceway with 350 horsepower and 243 lb ft of torque, and with a stiffer suspension.
From a 0-62 mph run, the 3.5R can manage in only 2.5 seconds. Weighing in at only 1,212 lbs, the extremely lightweight frame paired to all that power, rivals supercars in the seven figure range.
Price for this hardcore track toy will set you back some 80,000 ($135,000), and deliveries will start heading out as soon as next month. So get it while it’s hot.
