This is a blog, dedicated to anything to do with the automobile. I'll bring you things like my favorites in a list by importance, different cars, different days. my take on certain cars and their affect on history. I hope to expand my content as ideas come to me.
The Mercedes G-Class has been a staple in the Benz lineup since it was introduced in 1979. That big and boxy persona has somehow stood the test of time in both performance and design. But like any longstanding SUV, change is good, and a G-Class-inspired crossover may be just the change Mercedes was looking for. According to reports from Autobild, a new “lifestyle” vehicle dubbed the GLB will be available in the Mercedes-Benz lineup sometime in the next few years. Inspired by the current G-Class, the GLB will sit on the next-gen A Class platform, which is set to arrive in 2018.
Details on this new crossover are still slim, but we should expect Mercedes to follow its new design direction, meaning it could even take cues from the fantastical Ener-G force concept seen here. All the while, it will stay true to its G-Class roots.
When it’s all said and done, the GLB is expected to sit nicely above the current GLA with a higher price tag, and room enough for seven.
