We’ve got some pretty high hopes for the BMW M2. Coming off what was arguably one of the best BMWs ever built in the 1 Series M, and based on a superb 2 Series platform, it sounds extremely promising. But we won’t know for sure until it shows up in the next few months.

 

According to the internet sleuths over at BMWBlog, BMW won’t have the M2 ready in time for the Geneva Motor Show this September, nor the Pebble Beach Concours that’s happening, um, right now. Rather, they’ll show it off on its own in October, or bring it to LA in November. Or if they really want to push the timeline, debut it in Detroit early next year, though it seems unlikely.

Timeline aside, from what we know so far, the M2 should be a doozy. With an estimated output of 365 horsepower from BMW’s fantastic N55 TwinScroll turbocharged engine, expect it to be good for a 0-60 mph time of just around 4 seconds.

We’ll get all the details on the new M2 in the next few months, and it should hit the market by March of 2016. Color us excited.
