For the Ryan Gosling fan that has every conceivable piece of Gosling memorabilia…here’s one thing you don’t have. Back in 2013, Ryan Gosling took to the silver screen as police sergeant Jerry Wooters in the 1940s crime drama “Gangster Squad”, accompanying Josh Brolin, Sean Penn, and Emma Stone. Sgt. Wooters’ car of choice? A 1941 Ford Super Deluxe convertible, in fact, this very car.
If you hadn’t seen the film, the plot line follows a group of good cops—led by Josh Brolin’s Sergeant John O’Mara—as they fight to dismantle the underworld of crime boss Mickey Cohen, played by Sean Penn. Bullets fly, fedoras are worn, and classic cars are chased. A number of achingly gorgeous cars dot the Los Angeles noir landscape, though Wooters’ Florentine Blue Super Deluxe certainly captures more eyes than most.
Flip back the white fabric convertible top and you’ll find a period-correct interior, with dark tan seating and door cards, a gorgeous woodgrain dashboard, and even the original radio.
Not long after the film debuted, the Super Deluxe sold at the 2013 Leake Auction in Dallas, Texas for $25,900. Today, it carries a “Buy It Now” price of $29,995.
