We should start by saying that no one should ever try to outrun the police. But, if you were thinking you might want to give it a try, then you’ll want to rethink that after you get a look at this police car. It’s a Chevrolet Corvette that you never want to see with lights flashing in your rearview mirror.
The Corvette was built to help promote safe and legal vehicle modification and debuted over the weekend at the Essen Motor Show in Germany. It’s part of the Tune It! Safe! program sponsored by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Transport.
The engine is the standard 6.2-liter LT1 V-8 with body upgrades from German Corvette specialist TIKT Performance. According to MotorAuthority, the car has a custom wide-body kit made of carbon fiber and forged alloy wheels that are 19 inches up front and 20 inches in the rear. There are also Hankook Ventus S1 Evo tires.
Those modifications are finished off with a white and blue Polizei livery wrapped by Foliatec. It looks great, but no one wants to see this 460-horsepower monster coming up fast unless it’s going after some other guy.
