The World’s Cutest Little Beach Buggy is Heading Back to Market

BOLD RIDE

Mini Moke
Kicking off production in 1964, the Moke was originally designed for use in the dunes of British-owned colonies along the coast of Africa. Production took place in the UK, and eventually Portugal, Australia, and South Africa before going under in 1993.

Mini Moke 2

Some new owners have bought up all the rights to the Jeep/Mini hybrid and will begin producing once again, this time in China, with headquarters in Australia. Under the hood is a punchy 50-horsepower 1.0-liter engine, and it comes with either an automatic or manual transmission (we’d choose the latter, of course). Not to mention it comes in a variety of fresh, fun colors.

As cute as it is, there is one catch. Yep, you guessed it: it won’t be available for sale in the U.S. For shame. But countries like Cuba, Panama, Costa Rica, and pretty much anywhere else with a beach will hopefully get an opportunity for distribution in the Moke International network.
