BOLD RIDE
The Porsche 911 range is not made up of slow-moving vehicles. They are all rather peppy and most of the range is even turbocharged. Speed is their thing, especially with the new 3.0-liter twin-turbo Carrera. Porsche is going a step further with the 911 Turbo and Turbo S.
There is no such thing as too powerful when it comes to cars, at least in Porsche’s eyes, so they’ve taken their 3.8-liter twin-turbo and upped it by about 20-30 horsepower. Why? Because they can, that’s why.

This means that the Turbo has 540 hp and the Turbo S comes in at 580 hp. Mind-bendingly fast to say the least. With all that extra power under the hood, the Turbo S will do 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds with a top speed of 205 mph.
Even the straight 911 Turbo will do 0-62 mph in 2.9 seconds, although its top speed of 199 mph is so close to 200 it’ll make you weep. Keep in mind that Porsche is generally conservative with their numbers. Real world results are often better than expected so no matter which Turbo flavor you choose, you’re in for a heck of a ride.
The new 911 Turbo and Turbo S will arrive in Germany first, with prices ranging from €174,669 to €215,962. Meanwhile, the extra-potent 911 is set to arrive in the U.S. with prices starting at $159,200 for a Turbo coupe and all the way up to $200,400 for a Turbo S Cabriolet. And that’s before the options list which can tack tens of thousands on to the price. You better have your finances in order.
