That restoration came from none other than Dan Haggerty, better known as Grizzly Adams, who was in charge of the bikes during filming.
After he rebuilt it, he sold it to the National Motorcycle Museum in Iowa. The 1952 Harley-Davidson Hydra-Glide police model changed hands again when it was sold to California businessman Michael Eisenberg.
Eisenberg has long been an ‘Easy Rider’ fan and even ran the Thunder Road House in West Hollywood with Fonda and ‘Easy Rider’ co-star Dennis Hopper in the 1990s, until the place burned down due to electrical problems.
It’s the fulfillment of a long time dream to finally own the bike, but now that it’s his, he wants everyone to be able to see this little piece of history.
