    No country faces the dangers of carjacking quite like South Africa, where 9,990 cases were reported to police in 2013. Carjackers have been known to throw paint from overpasses, block victims in their driveways and even pose as motorists stranded on the roadside.
     
     But residents have fought back in part by sharpening their driving skills, and Yahoo Travel Editor in Chief Paula Froelich took a day to learn the basics of carjacking avoidance at the Adrenalin Driving Academy outside of Pretoria.
