1,200HP Pontiac Firebird Heading to Auction
YAHOO AUTOS
We see a lot of cars go to auction— classics, supercars, sportscars. But this might be one of the coolest I’ve seen in recent history. It’s a 1970 Pontiac Firebird Resto Mod that is ready to unleash fury on anyone who dares drive it.
It features a twin-turbocharged V8 that puts out a bunch of power — 1,200 horsepower to be exact.
It features a six-speed manual gearbox, an air-to-air intercooler, a custom Billet Visner intake manifold, stainless steel headers, and 3-inch Magnaflow mufflers. And that’s just under the hood.
Outside you get an all-black everything getup. The car gets a new set of wheels and tires, a slightly modified hood and a meaner stance. It’s all finished off nicely with a fully revamped interior complete with racing harnesses.
Want it? You’re gonna have to move quick, Mecum’s Chicago auction starts Oct. 9. Even if the Firebird’s not your thing, there’s a boat load of muscle cars heading to the very same auction this week.
