The Ferrari LaFerrari, the Porsche 918 Spyder, the McLaren P1. Ever since this trio of hallowed hypercars was announced, car fans the world over have wanted to know one thing: which of these cars is the fastest? Today, we’re proud to say we can provide that answer… sort of.

That’s because the guys over at XCAR got a hold of all three of these rarified cars, albeit in mini-scale Lego Speed Champions form, and decided to pit them against each other in an all-out race to the finish. Which of these hypercars is the fastest to build in LEGO? Place your bets, you’re about to find out.

Drumroll please. And the trophy goes to… LaFerrari! With its sleek no-nonsense styling, the Ferrari LaFerrari is officially the fastest hypercar to build in LEGO, pulling a time of just 22 minutes and 39 seconds to completion. The Porsche 918 Spyder came second with 23 minutes 29 seconds, and in a decisive last place was the McLaren P1 with a 26 minute and 15 second build time.

All three of these hypercars truly are marvels of engineering. They’re each made of incredibly tough, high-strength plastic using a complex form of connecting knobs and holes. They’re all hybrids too – each drawing power from unbridled children’s imagination and a desire to learn through play.

Joking aside, they’re incredibly complex, carbon fiber festooned, massively powerful machines. Perhaps someday we’ll finally get to see that three-way track shootout. But not today.
