The creative process of designing automobiles is something we can’t see enough of. The sketches, the multiple stages of clay sculptures, and the digital mockups are all beautiful pieces of art. This video of the inspirations for the Renault Alpine Vision Gran Turismo Concept gives a small look at that evolution.
The video was released as a marking of the car finally becoming available in the video game Gran Turismo 6. The Alpine Vision GT, one of numerous Vision concepts designed for Gran Turismo, harkens back to Alpine’s lightweight A450 Le Mans racer, the A110, and even some aspects of the A210 and the A220.
Under the hood is a 4.5-liter V8 that packs 450 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque and is paired to a seven-speed gearbox. With a lightweight carbon fiber monocoque, the car powers through to a 199 mph top speed.
