Tesla Just Made Its Model S Even Faster With New ‘Ludicrous’ Package

BOLD RIDE

You would think that with a 0-60 mph time of about 3.2 seconds and 691 total horsepower, the Tesla Model S sedan would be fast enough for a family sedan. Nope. Elon Musk is a crazy person, remember? And his latest update is downright “ludicrous.”
Starting at $87,500, you can buy a Tesla Model S P90D ‘Ludicrous’ model with 762 horsepower, a 0-60 mph time of 2.8 seconds, and a quarter mile of 10.9 seconds. Ludicrous indeed.

Power comes from the dual-motor system—503 horsepower in the back, 259 horsepower in the front. But all that power isn’t even the best news for current Model S owners.

For just $5,000, current P85D owners can upgrade to the P90D package. That not only increases power (obviously), but signifies a 5% range increase with a total mileage meter of 300.

But wait; there’s more! Musk also announced the new Model X SUV (which we’ve been patiently waiting for) will also feature the ‘Ludicrous’ package and manage a 0-60 mph time of 3.2 seconds, whenever it’s available. There’s also the new Roadster, which is set to come out in the next four years. Man those guys have been busy.
Nevertheless, the P90D and “Ludicrous” packages are now available on the Tesla Model S.
