Hennessey Might Have Just Broken the World Speed Record…Again
Oh Hennessey, when will the insanity end? Thankfully for anyone who enjoys ridiculous speed—never, it seems. Because on April 11th, Hennessey will release figures, it says, that will once again surpass the world speed record. The very same speed record the company broke in 2014, in case you forgot.
Celebrating 25 years of no-nonsense, straight-line, Texas speed, the tuner launched yet another Venom GT down yet another airport runway in the pursuit of 270+ mph. This time, a yellow one, complete with an open top, a roll cage because safety, and—oh yeah—1,451 horsepower from a twin-turbo 7.0-liter V8.
Though we won’t know the exact top speed for sure until Monday, the thing looks pretty damn fast in the teaser video you saw above. That anticipation is killing us. Three. More. Days.
