The long wait is finally over. Today is the day that you can officially place your order for the Ford GT—that is, if you have the scratch. Applications are open for what is a very limited run of Ford’s incredible car.

 

According to Car and Driver, Ford is only planning on making 250 GTs this year with another 250 slated for next year. That’s not a heck of a lot of cars, although, its price ensures most of us won’t be able to afford one no matter how much we scrimp and save.

Applying doesn’t guarantee you a car. They will cull the list with priority given to previous GT owners and those who have a history of being Ford customers.

They haven’t revealed a final price, but have said it will start somewhere in the mid-$400,000s. If you need a more concrete price before you decide to fill out the application, then you probably shouldn’t even bother. This is a supercar for those with very deep pockets.

 

This initial ordering period last for only a month so you have until May 12th to make the decision. Even if you don’t plan on buying a GT, you can still play around with the configurator and dream.
