As if the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 wasn’t powerful enough, Hennessey Performance has gotten its hands on the car for one heck of an upgrade. The Z06 is already a giant leap over the base Corvette, but this tuning job turns it into a track demon.
Upgrades included in the HPE1000 start with forged pistons and rods, a custom built HPE camshaft, and ported cylinder heads to up the internals of the Corvette’s 6.2 liter supercharged V8 engine.
The supercharger has also gotten some attention to provide even more boost. The intercooler and built-in heat exchanger are revised to draw in even more cold air. This all adds to the car’s performance capabilities.
According to GM Authority, the end result will be a Corvette with 350 additional horsepower to reach the 1,000 horsepower mark when all is said and done. There are changes to the exterior and interior too, but those are more for looks than for performance.
There’s a special Hennessey hood and badging on the exterior, presumably to warn all other cars to get the heck out of your way.
Dash and engine plaques also speak to this Corvette’s special customizations along with Hennessey floormats. All details on the HPE1000 haven’t been released, but you can expect some mind-blowing numbers, including that 0-60 time, to be revealed in the near future.
