Many famous celebrities donate their time and money to help out current and returning US soldiers, but few do it quite as uniquely as Jay Leno.

The renowned car-a-holic and late-night funnyman teamed up with Al Roker on NBC’s Shine A Light campaign, and decided to award one special serviceman or woman a ride they wouldn’t soon forget … a ride in a 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat. After a random draw, US Army Corporal Ethan Laberge was selected.

Leno took Laberge and two friends off-base near Fort Campbell, Kentucky, to check out a few vintage muscle cars, at which point he sprung the Hellcat surprise. The duo set off down the road to wring out some of the Hellcat’s 707 horsepowers, apparently – as you’ll see – with the sheriff’s approval.

Though while riding side by side with Jay Leno is enough to make any test drive memorable, the funnyman didn’t stop there. The two took a break to have lunch, and after the drive Laberge noted how much he enjoyed the car. Leno replied, “It’s yours. America loves you.” Make sure to watch the video above; it’ll leave you grinning from ear to ear.
