This Spongebob Squarepants Toyota Sienna made its debut at this week’s LA Auto show as a part of Toyota’s partnership with Nickelodeon. It’s intended to promote the upcoming movie Spongebob Squarepants: A Sponge Out of Water, and will likely have kids cheering and parents saying no way in heck.
It’s a one-off vehicle that features a 3D exterior Spongebob motif that makes it look like it rolled off the set of Cars. There’s also a Superhero Incredibubble mask that shoots real bubbles from the roof of the minivan.
The inside is just as themed with each seat finished in its own color palette to represent individual Spongebob characters. The woodgrain dashboard is very ocean blue with a sand colored floor and sky colored headliner to complete that whole under the sea vibe.
The best part has to be the steering wheel. It’s got the same woodgrain finish as the dash only it looks like a giant ship’s steering wheel.
Once finished in LA, the Spongebob Toyota Sienna will make its way across the country to promote the film. It will end things with an appearance at the movie’s premiere on February 6, 2015 at which point all the kids will be begging for Spongebob cars.
