When Lexus unveiled the LC 500 sports car earlier this year in Detroit, it was a welcome surprise. But now, the Japanese marque just dropped something even more shocking than even a nearly 470-horsepower sports car. This is the LC 500h, and it’s the first hybrid sports car Lexus has ever built. Color us interested.

The new model will make its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month. While Lexus hasn’t exactly given us all the details on this green new sports car, rumors suggest that the output will be as much as 470 horsepower, paired to a 3.5-liter V6 electric hybrid. You can still opt for the 5.0-liter V8 in the standard gas-powered version, thankfully.

What Lexus did tell us, is that the LC 500h, “Represents a shift in Lexus’ engineering process and design ideologies, and marks the beginning of a new phase for the Lexus brand.” Considering how dramatically unique both the LC and LC hybrid are, we welcome this change.

We’ll know more about the nifty new LC 500h as it gets closer to its debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month.
