It seems that Jeep isn’t completely content on having the Renegade as its smallest offering. At least, that’s if we’re to believe a new report from AutoCar that says Jeep may be interested in going even smaller. A sub-compact crossover, maybe? A hatchback? Who knows.
According to Jeep CEO Mike Manley, a man who seems to be all over the automotive news realm as of late, “The growth rates of sales in the segment are very impressive, but we have yet to find a compelling case to do it.”
These statements are much like the ones he made on the hybrid Wrangler. There’s no guarantee at all that a sub-Renegade model is happening, but there’s no denying that there isn’t either.
For now, we’re taking these rumors with a grain of salt, as we are the Wrangler reports. Question is: how small is too small in the world of Jeep? Would you want to see Jeep build a wacky hatchback?
