BOLD RIDE
The 2015 Ford Mustang is comfortable, it’s technologically advanced, and it’s greener than its ‘Stang predecessors. But that certainly doesn’t mean it’s a departure from the pony car plan – fun, performance, abundant smoky burnouts.
Ford wanted to demonstrate this, so it lined up an immaculate assortment of vintage, restomoded, and race-prepped Mustangs from across the car’s 50 years and six generations (albeit no SN-95), enlisted some of the world’s best drifters, and told them to have at it. Tire smoke ensues, as well as an overwhelming sense of nostalgia. Take a look.
Drift icons Vaughn Gittin Jr., Chris Forsberg, and Ryan Tuerck – all experts in the art of going very fast and very sideways – lead the charge in the video, behind the wheel of a few quite notable Mustang creations. You might recognize Creations N’ Chrome’s ‘Top Notch’ Fox Body, as well as the new 2015 RTR. Heck, there’s even a Mustang II in the mix.
Gittin sums it up well, “Here’s to the next 50 years.” Imagine what part two of this video – come 2065 – could look like at 100 years of Mustang. Which one is your favorite?
