BOLD RIDE
Seattle public transportation is going to the dogs. Or should that be, dogs are going to Seattle public transportation? One savvy canine is using local buses to get to the dog park. All by himself.
According to KOMO TV, Eclipse, who is black as the night, hops on local buses and, more importantly, gets off at the right stop to play at a local dog park. Unfortunately, the story doesn’t mention how the dog pays for the ride. Maybe kids and dogs ride free?
Eclipse is apparently not man’s best friend— or at least not man’s most patient friend. She hopped on the bus one day because she didn’t want to wait for her owner to finish a cigarette. “Adios sucker,” she probably thought to herself, as she scampered away tail wagging,
Since then, Eclipse does it so much that people sometimes think she’s lost. “She’s been here the last two years, so she’s been urbanized, totally. She’s a bus-riding, sidewalk-walking dog,” her owner told KOMO. “Probably once a week I get a phone call. ‘Hi. I have your dog Eclipse here on 3rd and Bell,’” he recounted. “I have to tell them, ‘no. She’s fine.’ She knows what she’s doing.”
