BOLD RIDE
NASCAR racing is high-intensity, high-adrenaline stuff. When bodies bump out on the track, you’re bound to see a war of words back in the pits. If that’s your sort of thing, last night’s Budweiser Duels did not disappoint.
Danica Patrick got tangled up with Denny Hamlin not once, but twice this week (first in practice and then in the second duel), and she wasted no time in bee-lining to Hamlin and calling him out. Here’s how that conversation went down.
Hamlin doesn’t admit to pushing Patrick in the turn at all during the heated conversation, though later the veteran racer tweeted the following, “Folks I watched it back and was in the drivers seat so I know…I did NOT hit her. BUT I was close, too close obviously.”
Despite all the commotion, both Patrick and Hamlin will make it to the starting line for Sunday’s Daytona 500 after all. Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson will lead off the race on Row 1. Bobby Labonte, who sustained significant damage in last night’s accident, will follow from far behind in Row 22. Take a look at the video below and see if you think Hamlin and Patrick made contact.
