Ford Mustang Hatchback? Oh God, Shield Your Eyes!

BOLD RIDE

Mustang Hatchback 3

The 2015 Ford Mustang is a beautiful car. It was completely redone for its 50th anniversary and it’s made huge leaps forward in both its design and engineering to mark that big milestone. This rendering, however, does absolutely nothing for the car.

The idea behind the rendering was to create a shooting brake, but somewhere along the way it morphed into this hatchback. And, well, it’s not the best looking version of the Mustang. It was created by Thoephilus Chin, and to be fair, there was a good amount of work that went into keeping the car’s signature elements, but it just doesn’t work.

Looking at the car from the front, it’s still a Mustang and looks just fine. Take another look from the side and now you see you’re dealing with neither coupe nor convertible but something completely different. Once you stare at it from the back, that’s where things just go wrong.

There’s so much bubbly hatchback that it ruins the lines of the car and looks like some reject from the ’70s come back to haunt us all. Now we all know why Ford has never attempted to make a Mustang hatchback.
