This is what a lot of people are believing to be the first leaked image of the new McLaren 675LT, as seen on AutoGespot. With a few teasers and some vague closeups, it does look like it could be the real thing— except McLaren says it’s not.
A homage to the previous F1 Longtail racer, the 675LT is expected to be longer, and more race-oriented than its 650S sibling. That seems to be the case here with a custom rear bumper and a slightly longer tail.
Of course, being the skeptics that we are, we reached out to McLaren to see if we could get a little confirmation as to whether this was the real thing or not. Here’s what they had to say:
“The image is an early, unfinished rendering of the 675LT, and is not fully representative of the production model which will premiere at Geneva. More details will be released closer to the global premiere in the coming weeks.”
So, according to McLaren, while this may be a preview of things to come, we won’t see the real thing until it hits Geneva. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see for sure…
