Bigger isn’t always better. Few people would want a 19-foot long sports car. Show them a picture of the equally lengthy and unabashedly brutal Mercedes-Benz G63 6×6 and they start to reconsider.
This AMG sports car of the off-road world is a bit of a game changer then. One lucky buyer will be able to nab this one soon.
A blacked-out 2014 6×6 just surfaced online, up for sale at Florida’s Mirabella Motors, and it’ll cost you nearly one million dollars to take it home (they retailed for just above $600,000 when new). Better get that yard sale up and running soon.
There’s no getting around it – the G63 6×6 is a powerful, powerful thing. Its 5.5-liter bi-turbo AMG V8 summons up 544 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque. Put to the ground through a Speedshift automatic gearbox, the 8,500-pound G63 sprints to 60 mph in seven seconds. What’s more astonishing, this example shows a scant 50 miles on the odometer since new.
It’s not exactly the most functional pickup however. Leave those muddy work boots outside. The G63′s floor and foot wells are covered in sumptuous leather while the bed sports wood veneer on the bottom and sides. But it will get you through the tough stuff. Underneath, the G63 rides on portal axles, six monstrous 37 inch tires, capable Ohlins dampers, and five mechanically locking differentials.
If you really are interested, you might want to phone up your local DMV before you drop those fat stacks of cash on the dealership table. Mercedes-Benz never officially imported these limited-run 6×6′s to the US market… so you might wake up to find customs agents at your door demanding the keys.
