BOLD RIDE

Jonathan Ward and the crazy kooks at ICON build some of the best 4x4s around. But lately, they’ve turned their attention to a new Derelict line of vehicles. What they do is take an old car, give it a full resto-mod from top to bottom, but leave the patina on the exterior completely untouched. It’s a really cool concept.

Their latest masterpiece comes in the form of a 1967 Volkswagen Bus. From the looks of it, you’d think that it’s just some worn-out old Bus. But don’t be fooled, that’s the beauty of the Derelict lineup at work. Watch as Jonathan Ward gives us a rundown of their latest creation:

While the ICON team left the exterior completely untouched, they finished the interior with a new cabin, including a reverse bench in the second row, a really cool fabric from some 60s patio furniture, and walnut accents ranging from armrests to the center table. They even fitted it with an air conditioning system.
It’s all powered by a 2.0-liter engine off a Volkswagen Jetta pushing out 195 horsepower. That means the owner won’t be stuck on the side of the road with this one-of-a-kind Bus.
