BOLD RIDE
The 2015 Mercedes-Benz S63 Coupe isn’t the type of car that leaves drivers wishing for more. In fact, AMG ensures that it packs quite enough performance from the get-go, including a 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8, 4Matic all-wheel-drive, and 577 horsepower to play with.
This is what they’ve created—a limited production “Black Edition” of the current S63 AMG Coupe that summons up a jaw-dropping 1,000 horsepower and an electronically limited 1,033 lb-ft of torque. Only six of these mean-looking Mercedes coupes are said to be produced, and the first of which will be officially unveiled at next week’s Frankfurt Motor Show. Be afraid.
So how does Mansory expect to extract those four-digit power figures from the AMG coupe? The company will replace and upgrade the V8′s connecting rods, bearings, crankshaft, turbochargers, and a variety of other components, as it did in the S63 sedan with its ‘M1000′ power pack.
The company’s styling changes leave little in question about its hardcore, go-fast purpose. The Black Edition S63 Coupe features reworked carbon fiber bodywork all around, finished in an eye-catching matte black paint. Mansory also adds striking alloy wheels, a large rear wing, new fascia with large cooling ducts, aero elements at the end of the front bumper, pumped up fender flares, heady side skirts, and two nostrils punching out of the hood.
The 1,000 horsepower super Mercedes was teased on Mansory’s Facebook page ahead of its debut in Frankfurt. As of yet, there’s no word on pricing for these six wild-styled coupes, though considering the standard car retails for $163,000…this Mansory creation won’t come cheap.
