This Mercedes-AMG GT Wants to be a Porsche Panamera

The Mercedes-AMG GT is a hardcore, two-door, take-no-prisoners German supercar. And it’s got a big 4.0-liter V8, so you know it’s good. But what would the world be like if the German marque decided to build a four-door version of its venerable coupe? You decide.

 

The concept seen here was created by rendering artist Theophilus Chin, and it’s…polarizing, to put it nicely. Taking cues from the Porsche Panamera, the AMG GT sedan puts an interesting twist on the standard two-door sports car.

Question is: will Mercedes actually build something like this? Don’t hold your breath. With a potent four-door in the CLS, Mercedes already has enough eat in its lineup to keep up with the rest of the pack. Though, with sportier inclinations similar to the GT, it definitely could be interesting.

It makes you think—but don’t expect to see it in a Mercedes-Benz dealership anytime soon.
