BOLD RIDE
Two sports cars, two companies, two very different looks. Both Lamborghini and Ferrari are responsible for building some of the most extreme, most breathtaking supercars on the planet. Recently,
the two unveiled a pair of convertibles that fans of the brands should be rushing to their respective dealers for.
Design
Ferrari, on the other hand, took the subtle beauty from the preceding 458 and turned it into a more masculine, aggressive design. We assume there will be plenty of varying opinions as to which of these two is the more beautiful.
Performance
Where the Lamborghini potentially exceeds in design, the Ferrari does so in performance. The twin-turbo V8 found on the 488 is capable of pushing out 661 horsepower. That means from a standstill, it’s good for a 0-60 mph time of around 3.0 seconds.
The Lamborghini, on the other hand, is a little less spritely. The naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V10 only produces 610 horsepower. It still manages an impressive 0-60 mph time of 3.4 seconds, and a top speed of 201 mph.
Roof Speed
Here’s the kicker: how fast does the roof of each car retract? For the 488 Spider, the cloth roof closes flat in just 14 seconds. For the Lamborghini, on the other hand, it takes a little longer at 17 seconds, but does so at a speed of up to 31 mph.
That’s a race we’d like to see.
